Episodes

Another long Sunday full of mystery and intrigue. My master plan of doing laundry was foiled by an amazing case of apathy and a heavy dose of distraction. Also being on your feet for 7 hours will indeed add to a lack of desire to trek outside to do laundry. So instead I am curled up at home watching my Sunday night Showtime television series.

If you haven't checked out Episodes, you need to give it a dance. It's a fantastic show about a married British couple who are the creators of a popular BBC show that is brought over to the states (ala The Office, Shameless, etc). The bloody yanks decide to butcher it and cast Matt LeBlanc as the lead. It's an amazingly well written program and worth your time.

Well it is late, and I am tired. Off to watch another episode of Californication then it is off to bed. 9am workout? We shall see about that...

Saturday. Yup.

Another glorious Saturday morning in Lexington. You know it's cold when 16 degrees feels balmy. Almost time to hit the pool- and by hit the pool I mean sit around and play Xbox. Good to see old friends again.

Saw the movie "True Grit" last night. Not a bad modern western. Of course nothing compares the Duke and his version- but still a good film. Still trying to figure out the special needs guy galloping around pretending to be a myriad of barn yard animals. I guess one could say that isn't too strange even for today- here's looking you at you Hoboken, NJ.

One thing that did happen last night was that MSNBC fired Keith Olbermann. This is kind of a shocking move considering the networks "ideological slant". I guess the network is ready for a new direction. Olbermann's ratings weren't the best in the world, and the network had to do something over his support of democratic congressional candidates.

And they say you can't accomplish anything in the laundry room. High five laundry room blog post.

Another Snowstorm- iPad, friends, books, UK game

Having a nice snowy Friday afternoon reading books and watching Some showtime on demand. Loving reading books on my iPad. Just finished a book that my girlfriend Rachel recommended. The book was called Enders Game. Not my typical pedigree of book- but still interesting. I enjoyed the use and misuse of technology. I've started a new book called Gideons War. It's written by an executive producer of 24. Hopefully the EP can write. So far its intriguing. I must say that I enjoy reading again. Thank you iPad. Hopefully friends from home can make their way to Lexington before I spend another 12 dollars on another book. Curse you written word. Irony?

Kentucky plays the evil game cocks of south carolina tomorrow afternoon. The cats have had a rough week after losing on the road to a BAD Alabama club. Kentucky looks to avenge a disastrous loss at South Carolina a year ago in which Kentucky entered the game sporting a fresh number one ranking.

This years South Carolina team is not as "talented" as last year. That certainly isn't saying much. Roles are certainly reversed this year as well. Kentucky is THE superior team in the SEC. However, in the SEC race, Kentucky is "second fiddle". The Cats are currently 3rd in the SEC East behind Florida and division leader... South Carolina.

South Carolina lost Devan Downey and seems to be looking for an adequate replacement. Bruce Ellington is the leading scorer for this years USC squad. He however lacks the punch that they had last year in one game against UK.

I guess I should quit tip-toeing around the real difference maker... The real difference maker is the home game environment at The Colonial Life Arena. South Carolina's sporting venues make it difficult on visiting teams. I recall during my years at UK, USC had HORRIBLE teams. And yet, like clockwork, we found a way to lose there. The Colonial Life Arena will certainly be amped up for this rematch. Sandstorm and the stupid Cock howl will be deafening for sure.

In the end, this is a bounce back game for Kentucky. Look for Jones to ignite the team and earn the new nickname "you f**king talented f**ker." Kentucky should roll in this game and look to close the gap on the other jokers in the SEC East.

Kentucky 67
South Carolina 55
